Trade books, which are primarily designed to entertain and inform outside the classroom, can be used successfully in the classroom to heighten motivation in your students. Trade books cover just about every topic under the sun, so you can probably find a book that will align with your curriculum objectives in such a way as to help your students see the applicability of the topic. Trade book lessons, worksheets, and discussion cards provide trusted reading and language skill activities before, during, and after reading. Choose between a generic set of discussion cards that start with Level 1 books and use them across all three levels, or use individual discussion cards created for each title in Levels 2 and 3.
