China Composite PMI Falls from 21-Month High: Caixin The Caixin China General Composite PMI dropped to 52.6 in December 2019 from a 21-month high of 53.2 in the previous month. Manufacturing growth slowed to a three month-low (PMI at 51.5 vs 51.8 in November) and services sector output expanded at a softer rate (PMI at 52.5 vs 53.5 in November). Manufacturing activity in China shrank in February, with the official purchasing managers' index (PMI) dropping to a historical low of 35.7, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Saturday, indicating that the outbreak of the novel coronavirus has weighed heavily on broader economic activities.
